Thanks to a unique combination of core competences we are able to realise special projects, also in other markets than security printing and solar. Attractive are those projects where we see opportunities for repeat orders which lead to an increased turnover in that particular market. Sometimes we come across projects ourselves and sometimes we are approached by parties in search of a reliable partner to realise such a project. Examples of markets where we realise special projects are the packaging industry, the subtitling industry and the automotive industry.

Packaging
One of the most crucial requirements of packaging is, of course, to protect the product. But it must also make the product accessible. All too often, opening a package can be difficult and frustrating. IAI delivers advanced laser systems to major packaging companies for cutting and weakening of packaging material without compromising product protection. The high precision application of opening devices at high speed using IAI's laser technology drastically reduces reject rates when compared to conventional techniques.

Subtitling
Since the eighties IAI has been involved in the development and production of industrial Laser Subtitling Systems. IAI's continuous efforts have resulted in the introduction of the LSS-150. This high speed Laser Subtitling System uses the latest technologies that result in the lowest cost for subtitling per print. The LSS-150 enables you to apply bright and sharp characters in 35 mm film.

Automotive
IAI´s latest project concerns the production and marketing of innovative laser drilling systems for the automotive industry. The systems enable drilling of nozzle holes for diesel injection systems in motors for the private car mass market. The technology has been developed at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, Germany, in several years of cooperation with diesel injection systems manufacturers and motor development companies and enables the drilling of nozzle holes with extensive free hole geometry. By application of this technology, improvements in motor, environment and consumption characteristics in a broad power range of diesel motors can be expected.
